In coordination with the Library of Congress Veterans History Project, leading non-profit organization, Never Alone Initiative is pleased to announce the development of the Louisiana Veterans History Project. The mission of Veterans History Project is to collect, preserve and make accessible the memories of our military veterans.

Louisiana Veterans History Project was launched with the mission to honor our nation’s military heroes by preserving the personal narratives of the veterans and Gold Star families residing in Louisiana. All stories will ultimately be archived with national Veterans History Project of the U. S. Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

“As a Gold Star Widow, I know first-hand the sacrifice that our military and military families make to preserve our ways of life. We are thrilled to be working with the Library of Congress Veterans History Project to make sure that these Louisiana men and women’s stories of selfless service are heard and preserved. Participating in Louisiana Veterans History Project not only honors those who served by creating a lasting legacy but also inspires those participating as interviewers to actively contribute for the greater good of their community,” stated Lavandolyn Smith, the President and Founder of Never Alone Initiative.

The Louisiana Veterans History Project is seeking veterans and Gold Star families to sharing their narrative through oral history, memoirs, letters or photographs.

To sign up to be interviewed or to volunteer to interview a veteran, email vhp@neveraloneinitiative.org or call 318-450-2875.
